I couldn’t quite place which painter/painting this Ian Norris piece, one of my favourites, called ‘Formby Sand Dunes’ (2016) reminded me of: Bomberg? Peter Lanyon? And then it came to me after a chat about British Surrealists. ‘The Shore’ from 1923 by Paul Nash. Both superb.
