About Kenneth Fernée
Enquire / Make an OfferKenneth Fernée was a landscape painter and teacher who was born in London in 1926. He painted primarily in oil and focused much of his work on the moorland landscapes and rocky seascapes of the Dartmoor terrain. He enjoyed much critical acclaim and had a solo show in the John Whibley Gallery on Cork Street in 1971 following a ‘Three Painters’ exhibition there two years prior. He was a friend of Fred Yates and the two of them collaborated often on a series of annual exhibitions entitled ‘Focus on South Brent.’ Following his premature death at the age of 57, the University of Exeter organised a memorial retrospective of his work and acquired an oil on board entitled ‘Dartmoor, Stone Row’ for its permanent collection.
