Having sold ‘The Pathway’ (2015) over the weekend, I’ve pulled one of my last remaining earlier (1999) Jake Attree’s that clearly mark his direct tutelage-based descent from Auerbach who taught Mike Knowles at the Slade, who in turn taught Attree at Liverpool prior to Jake’s move to the Royal Academy. Sad to see ‘The Pathway’ go, it will always be one of my favourites, but ‘Seated Nude’ has beautifully filled the spot.
