I’m delighted to announce that after two years of trying, I have finally persuaded Richard Cook to allow a filmed piece featuring him and his work in Cornwall in August. Richard is a member of the Tate permanent collection and has had a solo show at Tate St Ives. He has always shunned mainstream publicity and moved away from the established London dealerships about 15 years ago. A highly intelligent and erudite man, it promises to be an intriguing couple of days as we discuss his background, influences, life story and art, as well as his views on the market and his time both studying under and sharing a studio with Leon Kossoff (he tells me this is not up for discussion but I remain undeterred). I am filming with ITV and Channel 4 documentary maker Barbara Santi. Watch this space for updates..
