Richard Cook referenced Van Gogh as an influence and inspiration seven times in the two hours of filming over the summer. Looking at the body of work we hold, it’s evident in so many of his paintings. Herewith ‘Fields Near Dartington’ (2014) up against Van Gogh’s ‘Green Wheatfields, Auvers’ (1890). Van Gogh spent the last 3 months of his life, prior to his committing suicide in the July of 1890, and enjoyed a final burst of creativity and painted some of his best loved and iconic works, at the height of his aesthetic powers. I shall be uploading a further selection of works to coincide with the release of the film in the coming weeks. I have now sold 30 of those I hold and would urge anyone drawn to his work to consider an acquisition. He is a true artist.
