To coincide with Tate Modern’s honouring of his late wife’s (Partou Zia) art and writing as posted yesterday I’ve decided to bring forward the release of a further small batch of Richard Cook’s works that are just back from the framers. Herewith images. The website will be updated in due course. They were an artistic tour de force with Cook having been awarded a solo show at Tate St Ives, as well as having works acquired by and donated to the Tate permanent collection, The British Museum, and enjoying an international reputation. Zia, who tragically died aged 49 in 2008, was the first recipient of Tate’s residency programme at their Porthmeor Studios, as well as a hugely acclaimed solo show ‘Entering the Visionary Zone’.
