‘Portrait of Partou’ (2000) by Richard Cook. This touching portrait of his wife, artist Partou Zia, was painted by Richard the year before his Tate St Ives solo show, and 8 years before her untimely death. It was also 3 years before Tate St Ives honoured her by offering her a pioneering residency at the historic Porthmeor Studios: previously occupied by Borlase Smart, Ben Nicholson and Patrick Heron.
