‘New York and The Gloomy Day’

Enquire / Make an Offer

“I think important, interesting work is made by usually quite awkward individuals, very often with some kind of issues, who need to make the work to address some kind of indefinable early experience.” Jake Attree June 2015

Here in the last of our video trilogy on Jake Attree, he talks about his inspired time in New York, his recurrent tree motif, and his childhood epiphany upon seeing a work by Constable and Bruegel’s Gloomy Day. It’s been a pleasure working with Jake on this project and he remains one of the kindest, most sensitive, engaging and informed artists I’ve ever met.
